Henri Mallet

Councillor, Ward 12

Henri Mallet was born and raised in Fredericton where he spent most of his youth on a volleyball court. Henri played for years with local club teams growing up and eventually finished his playing career in University. He’s now an accomplished and awarded coach, currently working at the University level as Assistant Coach with the UNB Men’s Volleyball program.

This is Coucillor Mallet’s first four-year term with Fredericton City Council after having been elected to represent the people of the Silverwood/Garden Creek area in May 2016.

In addition to his current coaching position, Henri is a past Assistant Coach with the University of Ottawa’s Women’s Volleyball program, the 2013 New Brunswick Canada Games Women’s Beach Volleyball Head Coach, the 2014 & 2016 New Brunswick Volleyball Men’s National Team Challenge Cup Head Coach, and will soon take the reins again as Head Coach for the 2017 New Brunswick Canada Games Men’s Beach Volleyball team.

Councillor Mallet is also a substitute teacher in the Francophone School District. He lives in Ward 12 with his partner, Sarah Walsh, an audiologist at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.
