Main Street Urban Design Plan

The City of Fredericton is asking for public feedback on the Public Realm Design Manual and the Built Form Design Guidelines for Main Street.  See the information below.  The deadline to provide comments is December 13, 2017.  Send comments to planning@fredericton.ca.

A more vibrant Main Street is a neighbourhood where people live, walk to work, visit local businesses and invest. The Main Street Urban Design Plan establishes a series of big moves that will frame a bold new vision for Main Street and the surrounding area over the next decade.

The plan’s big moves include

  • transitioning Main Street from a suburban to an urban centre
  • enhancing linkages with adjacent neighbourhoods
  • creating a place where people want to live
  • achieving a unique look and feel
  • becoming the premier commercial business district for the city’s north side.

Fredericton’s Main Street Urban Design Plan was approved by City Council in 2016.
