Fredericton Business Ambassador Awards Set for Monday, November 9
Fredericton (October 26, 2009) – The City of Fredericton’s Business Ambassador Awards will be presented Monday, November 9, during a reception which begins at 5 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 397 Queen Street.
Highlighting the evening’s program will be the presentation of the ‘Business Ambassador of the Year’ award by Fredericton Mayor Brad Woodside.
“We currently have more than 260 volunteer ambassadors in this program who are out there every day promoting Fredericton during their meetings and travels as a Smart City offering best value, and an enviable quality of life,” said Mayor Woodside. “The ultimate goal is to create economic growth and prosperity for our community by attracting new businesses, residents, conferences and events to the City. This awards reception is our way of saying thank-you.”
The Business Ambassador of the Year will be awarded a crystal trophy. There will also be prizes awarded based on lead generation, investment attraction and distribution of promotional tools by the Ambassadors. These prizes include: a BlackBerry Storm sponsored by TELUS; four rounds of golf on their 18-hole signature course and a four-month fitness pass sponsored by Kingswood; and a gift certificate from Robert Simmonds.
The City will also debut its updated promotional video during the awards reception. The video depicts the cost-competitive business environment and quality of life in Fredericton. The video is contained on the Fredericton’s business card CD, which is the Ambassadors’ primary tool in marketing and promoting Fredericton.
