City Administrator
The City Administrator and staff are responsible for providing policy advice to City Council and to coordinate and manage the administrative operations of the Corporation. They are also responsible for, and accountable to City Council, for the efficient and effective conduct and operation of all City departments and offices.
- Team Fredericton
Team Fredericton is the City's Economic Development Agency. It works with stakeholders including government, community agencies, the universities and the business community to bring economic development to the City through marketing & promotions, conducting research and organizing special initiatives.
- Green Matters
Fredericton's Green Matters greenhouse gas reduction campaign is a community-wide initiative to educate, engage and motivate Fredericton residents, businesses and organizations to reduce their own emissions, with the goal of reducing GHGs from community sources by six per cent by 2010. Green Matters also encompasses the City's commitment to reduce emissions in the corporation by 20 per cent by 2010.
- Corporate Communications
The Corporate Communications Office provides strategic communication counsel to all City departments with broad responsibility for external communications, internal communications, media relations, event management and corporate initiatives.
- Community Liaison
The Community Liaison Officer provides a direct link to the community and advocates in advancing files dealing with a broad range of issues affecting the city and its citizens. The Office is a unique position within the City's operation and provides facilitation and coordination between City Hall and the community on issues within the mandate of the City of Fredericton. The mandate of the Community Liaison office has been defined as: issues identification, advocacy, liaison, communication and partnership creation.
- Legal Division
The Legal Division provides legal services to the City of Fredericton, and its various departments and committees. The Division is responsible for: drafting by-laws and resolutions for City Council, preparing legal opinions required by Departments; and, acting on behalf of the City with respect to Council-approved property transactions.

Office of the City Clerk
The Office of the City Clerk is responsible for the permanent documentation of all City by-laws, resolutions, contracts, Council agendas and Council minutes. Staff provide secretarial support to all committees of Council, respond to requests from Council for information, assist Council with their correspondence needs, and respond to citizen inquiries and complaints. Staff also provide advice on Council and committee procedures.

Community Services Department
The Community Services department provides services to meet the recreational and leisure needs of our Citizens as well as the needs of visitors to the City of Fredericton.
- Administration Division
The Administration Division is responsible for the administration and maintenance of all parks and recreation facilities, as well as the development of plans for recreational park land and future facilities.
- Programs Division
The Programs Division provides the citizens of Fredericton with a better quality of life through leadership, participation experiences, recreation services and by ensuring that programs and facilities are available to all leisure time activities in the community, and that such activities are effectively coordinated (This Division is responsible for the maintenance of all outdoor pools). The Programs Division also provides recreation and leisure opportunities to tots, teenagers, adults, disabled persons, and senior citizens.
- Parks and Trees Division
The Parks and Trees Division maintains parks and urban forests. A program for checking elm trees for Dutch Elm disease is carried out regularly and diseased trees are removed. In addition, Trees are planted in newly developed areas of the City in order to maintain the urban forest.
- Transit Division
The Transit Department provides a variety of services to meet the transportation needs of the community. They provide regular transit bus service throughout the City, as well as charter tour operations, as requested. The Transit Department also provides a parallel transit service for mobility impaired residents of the City.

Corporate Services Department
The Corporate Services Department consists of ten sections/divisions, which provide service and support to all City Departments.
- Asset Management Division (Purchasing)
The Asset Management Division works to provide efficient and timely purchases of supplies, materials, equipment and services for City Departments. The overall goal of the Asset Management Division is to maintain, in the most cost-effective manner, the continuous supply of goods and services necessary to support the normal function of the various departments of the City of Fredericton. This Division also looks after the disposal of surplus assets. Available on request through the Asset Management Division are tenders, copies of quotes and proposals, and, bid results and vendor information

- Fleet Management Division
The Fleet Management Division is responsible for the management and administration of all City of Fredericton fleet vehicles and equipment, including acquisition, usage, maintenance and disposal. They maintain a central database of City owned vehicles parts and equipment. Ongoing support and training to vehicle and equipment maintenance staff is also provided. The Fleet Division also manages policies and procedures related to vehicle usage.

- Human Resource Division
The primary functions of the Division are recruiting, human resource planning, benefit administration, training and development, and labour relations. The Division develops and implements human resource management procedures and provides guidance and advice to ensure that the organization manages its human resources in a safe, efficient and equitable manner.

- Risk & Safety Section
The Risk & Safety Section coordinates education & training for employees in a wide variety of areas in order to make the workplace safer & healthier. The Risk Management Reporting System is maintained by this section and captures all data related to incidents & accidents occurring with our employees, our property, and the public. The Section also recovers costs of property damage by the public and handles all communications with insurance companies of the City and its customers. Risk & Safety is responsible for maintaining a working Emergency/ Disaster Plan for Fredericton. The Risk & Safety Section processes Worker's Compensation claims, as well as Long-term Disability claims.

- Information Technology Division
The Information Technology Division is responsible for providing effective and efficient Information Technology and Management Information Services designed to support all City of Fredericton Initiatives. The division as well will develop, implement and maintain a technology acquisition strategy on behalf of the City of Fredericton and facilitates the use of state of the art information technology.

The Property Services Division maintains City-owned facilities, supervises contractual agreements for City facilities, and provides a supportive maintenance function to other departments within the City as required.

- Real Estate Division
The Real Estate Division for the City of Fredericton is responsible for Municipal land acquisitions, disposals, leasing and overall management of the City's property inventory. The Real Estate Division works in close conjunction with other City Departments to facilitate land transactions that enable the Departments to carry out their various projects. The Real Estate Division also implements and manages the assembly and development of global projects for the City of Fredericton.

- Office of Continuous Improvement
The mission of the Office of Continuous Improvement is to provide strategic and operational advice to Departments and cross departmental teams on major organizational projects that promote superior organizational performance through the development of human resources, optimization of information systems and integration of quality management practices. The members of the OCI Division act as consulting partners with Department Heads, Division Managers, and Team Leaders to achieve these results. They bring strategic thinking and strong project management skills to their clients and maintain a focus on meeting the clients' needs. They provide expertise in areas of research and development.

Development Services Department
The Development Services Department provides service in the areas of land use planning, development control regulations, zoning, building permits and building inspections, building code enforcement, parking services, by-law enforcement, heritage and culture, and tourism. Through its division the Development Services Department strives to provide excellent customer service to residents, visitors and the development community by responding to the needs of the public quickly, efficiently and accurately. The Department is comprised of five divisions: Policy & Planning Division, Building Inspection & By-law Enforcement Division, Heritage & Cultural Affairs Division, Parking Services Division, Tourism Division.

Engineering & Public Works
The Engineering and Public Works Department is administered by the Director of Engineering and Public Works. The department's main role is to maintain the City's physical infrastructure, and to provide water and sewer services, all as mandated by City Council.
- Water and Sewer Division
The Water and Sewer Division is responsible for the administration and operation of the City's water and sewer system. Services provided by the division include supply and distribution of potable water, maintenance of hydrants to accommodate fire protection, and sewage collection and treatment. The division is headquartered at St. Mary's St. Depot and operates numerous facilities throughout the City, including wells, water booster stations, sewage lift stations and the Water Treatment Plant off Woodstock Road. One hundred percent of municipal sewage is treated. The majority of sewage collected is treated at the Barker Street treatment plant, which is operated by Fredericton Area Pollution Control Commission, Water and Sewer also operates two sewage lagoons.
- Roads and Streets Division
Roads and Streets is responsible for the maintenance of all streets, curbs and sidewalks in the City. This includes providing snow control services on streets and sidewalks during the winter season. Traffic Operations is also a service provided by Roads and Streets. Line painting, street markings, streetlights, signage, and traffic signals all fall under Traffic Operations.
- Engineering Services Division
The Engineering Services Division supports the work done by Water and Sewer, Roads and Streets, and other City departments. Engineering is responsible for the design and delivery of the City's annual Capital Works Program. Engineering also provides technical advice on such issues as water and sewer, planning, lot drainage, contract administration, and GIS.

Finance Department
The Finance Department is responsible for managing the financial records of the City, preparing the annual budget, preparing water and sewer and sundry account billings, the administration of payment centre services, and preparing for the annual audit of the City's financial statements.
This Department is also responsible for: the financial administration of the City of Fredericton Superannuation Fund; administration of mail and delivery services; accounts receivable; and, payment of all accounts.
- City Payment Centre
The City Payment Centre is located at City Hall, 397 Queen Street. Hours of operation are 8:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Ample parking is available in the York Street Carpark behind City Hall. The Payment Centre accepts Cash, Personal Cheques, Debit, Visa and Master card. You may arrange for automatic withdrawal from your bank account for water and sewer bill payments here.
