The Riverfront Advisory Committee is designed to assist City Council, through its Development Committee, by reviewing riverfront proposals and activities and making recommendations. Its composition is flexible, and is intended to achieve a balance in terms of development, conservation and improvement of Fredericton's riverfront. The Riverfront Advisory Committee is a sub-committee of the Development Committee and meets only at the request of the Development Committee.
The objectives of the Committee are to encourage collaboration with all partners and stakeholders involved in riverfront development, encourage the creative application of land use and design principles as stipulated in the Riverfront Master Plan, and ensure that a broad range of choices, options or solutions is considered. One of the major projects initiated by the Committee is the Riverfront Master Plan.
