Note:  During the month of May 2012 all Standing Committee meetings of City Council are cancelled due to the May 2012 Municipal Election.  The Standing Committee meetings will resume after adoption of Committee membership on June 11, 2012.

Development Committee

The Development Committee monitors and supports the delivery of community and economic development programs; develops and coordinates the implementation of programs related to tourism and conventions, and coordinates the planning and implementation of zoning enforcement services.

Community Services Committee

The Community Services Committee monitors, supports, and coordinates the planning and implementation of leisure and recreation programs; coordinates the use and maintenance of existing parks and trails, as well as the planning and development of new parks and trails within the city. The Committee also provides liaison between the Council and the Fredericton Tree Commission in the development and implementation of tree planting and preservation programs.

Finance & Administration Committee 

The Finance and Administration Committee monitors and deals with financial matters on behalf of the City of Fredericton, as well as personnel issues.

The Information Technology Committee monitors and supports the delivery of information technology (IT) services, and promotes a coordinated strategic approach to technology and innovation projects within city departments and around the community.

Planning & Priorities Committee

The Planning and Priorities Committee maintains an awareness of the various activities and programs of the federal and provincial governments and their related agencies.  The committee then ensures proper representation to these groups on behalf of the City of Fredericton.

Public Safety & Environment Committee

The Public Safety and Environment Committee monitors and supports programs related to public safety and the environment, dealing with crime and fire prevention services, building code enforcement, planning and delivery of water, sewer, sanitation and pollution control services, as well as the planning and delivery of operational police and fire services.
