Festivals & Events

The City of Fredericton is actively preparing for an unprecedented weekend of celebrations in downtown Fredericton to ring in the nation’s 150th anniversary of confederation. 

In order to accommodate such a historic event, the following street closures will be in place, pending Council final approval:

Friday, June 30th

  • Carleton Street at Queen Street (going towards the Officers’ Square parking lot) CLOSED from 5pm – midnight, July 1st
  • St. Anne’s Point Blvd from Regent / Queen to Westmorland Street overpass CLOSED from 6pm – 12am

Saturday, July 1st

  • St. Anne’s Point Blvd CLOSED from 8am-1am (July 2nd)
  • St. Anne’s Point Blvd and Queen Street Loop will see traffic interrupted from 4pm – 5pm, as parade runs
  • Westmorland St Bridge CLOSED from 7:30pm – approx 12am to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic
  • Queen Street from the Cenotaph to St. John Street CLOSED 9:30pm – 11pm for MALA – The Stories of New Brunswick. (St. John St open to traffic)

Boating enthusiasts are also reminded that access to the Saint John River on July 1st will be restricted to below the Carleton Street piers or past the Small Craft Aquatic Centre from 7:30pm – 12am
