HMCS Fredericton's Boarding Party Visits City

STALKER OF THE SEAS -- Crew members from the HMCS Fredericton, one of the Canadian Navy's most advanced general-purpose frigates,  were in Fredericton September 27, 2007 for a demonstration of the capabilities of the ship's boarding party on the St. John River. They are shown here with Mayor Brad Woodside on the steps of City Hall after accompanying him back from the Regent Street Dock.

 

 

 

VIP TREATMENT -- Mayor Brad Woodside walks along a sidewalk in downtown Fredericton September 27, 2007 surrounded by crew members from the Canadian Navy patrol frigate HMCS Fredericton.  Tourists and residents alike were treated to something they don't see every day as the ship's boarding party put on a demonstration of their capabilities on the St. John River. The crew members were in Fredericton as part of a Canadian Forces recruitment drive.

The crew members demonstrated how they perform boarding manouevres and deal with any threats to their safety. The crew approached and secured the Regent Street Dock during the demonstration.
