The ship's captain made a presentation to City Council, was guest speaker at a Fredericton Rotary Club event.

Commander Waddell, along with Master Seaman Jared Phillips, Sub-Lt. Eric Isabelle and Chief Petty Officer Terry Prowse, were also guest of Lieutenant-Governor Herménégilde Chiasson and paid a courtesy call on the New Brunswick Legislature and Premier Shawn Graham.

The ship's delegation also met with the New Brunswick Women's Institute, whose members have volunteered to donate a batch of home-made preserves to the Photo of HMCS Fredericton Senior Crew members Visit City In May 2009ship's crew to take with them on their next deployment overseas.

The Fredericton Fire Department will be seeking ways to interact with the ship's firefighters later this year. In mid-August, crew members will be back in Fredericton participating in a cycling event to raise money for the Children's Wish Foundation.

The delegation also met with the HMCS Fredericton Liaison Committee to plan for future visits. The Committee, which was formed in November 2008, is chaired by Councillor Stephen Chase and includes: Bruce McCormack of Downtown Fredericton, Doug Motty of Enterprise Fredericton, Lisa LePage of Enterprise Fredericton, Anthony Knight of the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce, Bob Skillen of the University of New Brunswick, Trina MacDonald of Business Fredericton North and Don Fitzgerald, the City's Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives.
