June to mid-September

‘Salmon Run’ Exhibition – See 26 artfully decorated Salmon on display in downtown Fredericton storefronts.



June 27-28

10 am – 5 pm – Artists of the Barracks Shops open with demonstrations



 Monday, June 29

10 am & 2 pm - Comic Art Workshops with artist Viravong, artist-in-residence from Paris, Fredericton Public Library.  Sessions for Children (age 7-12) & Teens (age 12-15). Pre-register at Library.

10 am – 5 pm – Artists of the Barracks Shops open with demonstrations

7 – 9 pm - Symposium:  Visual Arts Practice and Patronage in Atlantic Canada, Beaverbrook Art Gallery. Panelists:  David McKay, Peter Powning, Ron Shuebrook, Anne Bertrand.



Tuesday, June 30

Canada Day Celebrations

‘Paint the Town Green’ – 6 artists creating art with green as the focus, on The Green

10 am – 5 pm - Artists of the Barracks Shops open with demonstrations

Noon – Canada Day Block Party, Officers’ Square & the Green  (concerts, games & activities, food)

4 pm – Canada Day Parade including ‘Art on the Move’ entry with creative people and organizations

7 pm - Concert at Christ Church Cathedral, A Musical Legacy: Celebration of Fredericton Composers

10:40 pm – Fireworks on the Green



Thursday, July 2

10 am - Childrens’ Art Activity with “Bubbajane”, Children’s’ Art Tent in Officers’ Square

11 am – 4 pm - Childrens’ Art Tent activities & sidewalk chalk art

10 am – 5 pm – ‘Plein Air’ Family Painting Event on the Green, between the Pedway and the Lighthouse.  Artists and instructors on site to give ‘plein air’ painting tips. Register your participation at the Lighthouse to help set a record for the greatest number of people ‘plein air’ painting in one day. Artists gather at 4 pm at the Art Market tent in Officers’ Square to view artwork and share cake & lemonade. (Rain date: Sun, July 5)

11 am - Changing of the Guard Ceremony, Officers’ Sq.

11:15 am - Day in a Soldier’s Life in Barracks Square (French)

12 - 2 pm – ‘Get Creative at the Commons!’. Business Fredericton North hosts a Family ‘Plein Air’ Painting Event, Nashwaaksis Commons. Paints, paper and brushes will be supplied along with music, food, and fun!

1 pm - Scotty & the Stars (children’s entertainers) performance, Officers’ Square
