The City of Fredericton has undertaken fifteen diverse large-scale projects to celebrate our culture and encourage further innovation and education in the arts.
Funding Program - $100,000 in grants were made available to arts and cultural organizations for special 2009 projects.

'Salmon Run' Exhibition - Gallery Connexion, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2009, will stage a summer art exhibit which involves fish-shaped forms adorned with the creativity of local artists and displayed around town throughout the summer.
Summer Visual Arts Festival which will include projects and exhibitions to celebrate our local visual artists and galleries. This will open with a provincial Emerging Artists exhibition at Government House. Further events include an Art Market, children's activities, and many collaborative events with local arts organizations.
Youth Summer Culture Camps produced in partnership with Fredericton Arts & Learning and Centre communautaire Ste.-Anne will provide an opportunity for local children to be engaged and learn about various art forms and creative outlets.
Community Artist Garden at Charlotte Street Arts Centre - to create a special place at the back of Fredericton's arts centre.
Francophone Artists Cultural Exchange and programming in partnership with Centre communautaire Ste.-Anne.
Short films on Fredericton's Culture and Heritage - 10 short films have been commissioned by NB Film Co-op, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2009. The films will explore Fredericton's heritage and culture, and when completed, will be posted in our Multimedia Gallery online.
Public Art - a piece of public art will be commissioned for a sculpture garden to be established at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in celebration of its 50th anniversary. Three finalists have been announced.
Arts & Culture on the Web - we will be posting photos, video clips, exhibition catalogues and more on our website.
Community Art Program in partnership with NB Arts Board. The application and jury process will be facilitated by NB Arts Board and the project ideas will come from the artists.
Summer Theatre Production - The Playhouse, celebrating its 45th anniversary will commission a new piece of theatre with the first full production anticipated for summer 2010.
Performing and Media Arts Gala to showcase and celebrate Fredericton's diverse performing and media artists.
Children's Community Art Project will involve children working hands on with an artist and/or designer learn about the art making process and create a piece of community art.
Arts and Culture Forum to bring community stakeholders together with a facilitator to discuss our successes and developments in Fredericton's arts and cultural sector and to set some priorities for post-Cultural Capitals of Canada year.
