Fredericton (September 1, 2010) - A Level Two Heat Alert is being issued for Wednesday September 1, 2010, indicating that Humidex levels are predicted to be between 40 and 44 for a significant portion of daylight hours.
Please note that it is predicted to be hotter today in addition to sustained heat levels since Sunday. Peak Humidex values typically occur in the late afternoon. Since Humidex values take into account both temperature and humidity, they are typically higher than the recorded temperature.
The alert remains in effect for Wednesday September 1, 2010 only. Alert levels are based on to the highest reasonable predictions at the time of issuance and on data specific to the city of Fredericton. Humidex values in the city are typically higher than those recorded at the Fredericton airport.
