What is Household Hazardous Waste?
Leftover household products that contain corrosive, toxic, flammable, or reactive ingredients are considered to be "household hazardous waste". Products, such as paints, cleaners, oils, batteries, and pesticides, which contain potentially hazardous ingredients, require special care when you dispose of them.
Look for symbols indicating the product is corrosive, toxic, reactive or flammable or look for these words - Danger, Poison, Caution, Warning

How do I properly dispose of Household Hazardous Waste?
DO NOT pour these products down the drain, nor bury, nor incinerate them! And DO NOT put them out with your garbage!
On Household Hazardous Waste Days, you may take them to the Fredericton Region Solid Waste Commission at 1775 Alison Blvd where you will be directed inside the gate to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot. The Commission has specially trained staff to receive hazardous waste and offers four regularly scheduled dates per month to visit the Household Hazardous Waste Depot.This no-charge service is offered:

every Saturday
7:30am - 3:00pmRemember! Household hazardous waste only. No industrial, commercial or institutional hazardous waste will be accepted.
