Applications Being Accepted for 2017 Transit Fare Assistance Program

The City of Fredericton is now accepting applications from community groups and agencies interested in participating in the City’s 2017 Transit Fare Assistance Program.

The program is designed to provide additional support to community groups as they assist their clients’ efforts to attend medical appointments, access education and training, seek employment or visit service providers.  Under the program, these organizations can apply to receive Transit and/or ParaTransit (formerly Dial-A-Bus) tickets to distribute to their clients. The program will operate throughout 2017.

“We are glad to continue this important program in our community,” said Coun. Steven Hicks, Chair of the City’s Community Services Committee.  “We have heard time and time again how the tickets benefit people.”

Applications for the program can be obtained here or at the Recreation, Culture & Community Development office, 514 Queen Street, Fredericton, NB.

The deadline for returned applications is January 19, 2017.  For further information, please contact Seb Salazar at 506-460-2112 or sebastians@fredericton.ca
