The Open House is cancelled.*

The City of Fredericton and Elections NB will be cohosting an open house for municipal election candidates on Monday, March 23, at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chamber at Fredericton City Hall.

Attendees will hear from Kim Poffenroth, New Brunswick’s Chief Electoral Officer, Jeff Trail, City of Fredericton Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, as well as outgoing City Councillors John MacDermid, Ward 10, and Stephen Chase, Ward 9.

“This is a good opportunity for anyone interested in running for Fredericton City Council to learn more about the roles of Mayor and Council, and ask questions,” said Jennifer Murray, City Clerk/Manager of Legislated Services.

Following the open house, attendees are welcome to stay and observe the regular City Council meeting starting at 7:30 p.m.

Fredericton City Council serves for a four-year term and consists of a mayor, nominated and elected at large, and 12 City Councillors, nominated and elected by ward. Mayor and Council are responsible for conducting municipal government business through a variety of meetings and bound by a number of bylaws and legislation.
