City Pleased to See Return of Early Morning / Late Evening Flights to Toronto

The City of Fredericton is pleased to see the return of WestJet’s early morning flight to Toronto and late evening flight back to Fredericton, announced by the airline today.

“This is a critically important flight for Greater Fredericton. From an economic development perspective, it facilitates same-day business travel to and from Toronto.  The flights also allow more connectivity for travelers moving beyond Toronto to Western Canada, the United States, and sun destinations” says Deputy Mayor Steven Hicks.

“We’re very pleased to see this flight return and thank WestJet for quickly filling what had emerged as a critical gap in our air service. We also want to thank our partner the Fredericton International Airport for their work on the file," said Hicks.

WestJet’s new schedule will go into effect on June 24, which brings business travelers the option of going to Toronto (YYZ) for meetings and returning to Fredericton (YFC) the same day. The new schedule also connects Fredericton travelers with WestJet’s North American, American, and European network more easily, including great destinations like Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Grand Cayman Island, Montego Bay, London, and Barcelona.
