City Prepares Canada Day Celebrations

The City of Fredericton is actively preparing for a weekend of activities in downtown Fredericton to celebrate Canada Day. 

Two free days of music, family entertainment, fun activities for kids, and more are planned for Fredericton’s official Canada Day event. 

In order to accommodate the weekend events, the following closures will be in place:

  • Carleton Street north of Queen to the Pedway, from Sunday, June 30 at 5:00 p.m. to after the fireworks at approx 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on Monday, July 1st.
  • St. Anne’s Point Drive, from 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019 to 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.
  • Westmorland Street Bridge CLOSED from 9:00pm – approx 12am to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
  • Boating access to the Saint John River on July 1st will be restricted to below the Carleton Street piers or past the Small Craft Aquatic Centre from 9:00pm – 12am.
