City provides over $766,000 in grants as part of Budget 2018

Fredericton City Council will provide $766,430 in grants and support to local groups as part of the municipality’s 2018 Budget. This includes contributions in the areas of Strategic Partner Capital Grants and Community Grants, as well as, Arts, Heritage & Cultural Activity/Program Grants, Major Events, and Sport Tourism.

“We provide project and specific program funding through these grants to encourage the growth and stability of strong, sustainable non-profit groups and organizations whose purposes and services align with the City’s long-term plans,” said Coun. Dan Keenan, vice-chair of the City’s Finance & Administration Committee. “This year, we’ve increased funding for our city’s key festivals by about 30%, so that they can continue to sustainably operate – drawing in tourists and making Fredericton a vibrant place to live.”
