City Seeks Public Input on Transit Strategic Plan

The City of Fredericton is seeking input from residents on the final draft of its Transit Strategic Plan. The draft plan will first be presented to members of the City’s Transportation Committee at a special noon meeting on Thursday, November 29. The plan will then be available for public viewing and feedback at an open house to be held in the Chickadee Room at the Fredericton Public Library starting at 3 pm.

Members of the consulting team from Stantec will present the plan, and Fredericton Transit staff will also be on hand to answer questions and receive feedback at two separate presentations. The first presentation will begin at 3 pm, followed by a question and answer period. The same presentation will be given again at 5 pm, followed by another question and answer period with the Stantec consultants and City staff.

The City of Fredericton hired Stantec to prepare a Strategic Plan for Fredericton Transit in late 2017, and create a “blueprint” for Fredericton Transit on how it can better deliver services to its customers and increase ridership. Public consultation with the public, transit riders, and community stakeholders followed in early 2018.

The City looks forward to exploring your thoughts and feedback at this important session. For more information, contact Fredericton Transit at 506-460-2200 or
