City to Recognize International Day for Older Persons

The City of Fredericton invites you to join Mayor Mike O’Brien and members from Fredericton’s Age Friendly Community Advisory Committee for a ceremonial flag raising event in recognition of the International Day for Older Persons, on Friday, September 29 at 12pm outside City Hall.

The event will be immediately followed by a small celebration in council chambers with remarks from Mayor O’Brien, Coun. Eric Megarity, Chair of the Fredericton Age Friendly Community Advisory Committee and Carol Morrison, Chair of the Committee’s Prime Time Volunteers project.

The International Day of the Older Persons, will be celebrated on October 1st, 2017 and aims to recognize the contributions of older adults in their families, communities and societies at large, while  focusing on the pathways that support full and effective participation in old age.
