Dog parks, disc golf and some tennis courts set to reopen for long weekend

Dog parks, disc golf courses and tennis courts at Wilmot Park and Henry Park in Fredericton will reopen for the Victoria Day long weekend.

The Wilmot Park tennis courts will reopen by noon on May 15. The Henry Park tennis courts will reopen by late afternoon day on May 15. Dog parks and disc golf courses will reopen to the public on Saturday morning, May 16.

The public must bring their own hand sanitizer, practice social distancing, not gather in groups, stay within their family bubble, and follow all posted rules.

Staff will be monitoring the facilities. They can only remain open if the public practices social distancing and follows the posted rules. Violations will result in facilities being shut down for 48 hours.

The re-openings follow the extensive review and development of approved operational plans as per the Province’s and City’s COVID-19 protocols.

At this time, sport courts & fields, pickle ball courts, playgrounds, and skateboard parks will not reopen.
