Fall Leaf Pickup Set for October 30 to November 3 and November 13 to 17

The City of Fredericton’s annual Fall Leaf Pickup will take place this year during the weeks of October 30-November 3 and November 13-17.

Residents are reminded that only compostable paper leaf bags will be accepted.  Leaf pickup is expected to coincide with regular garbage / recycling days. Please pile leaf bags separately from household garbage. The one week gap in the leaf pickup program allows residents to continue raking leaves that fall later in the season.

“The Fall Leaf Pickup program continues to grow through the great participation by our citizens,” said Coun. Stephen Chase, Chair of the City’s Public Safety & Environment Committee. “Last year, the City diverted 742 metric tonnes of compostable yard waste to our municipal compost facility. In order to continue to improve the success of our program, folks who begin their clean up over the Thanksgiving holiday are reminded to hold any compostable waste until our designated pickup dates.”
