Fredericton Newcomer Partnership Council Declares June as Fredericton Immigration Month

The Fredericton Newcomer Partnership Council, together with 19 immigrant support organizations, is hosting the first annual Immigration Month in June. This initiative hopes to raise awareness around the importance of population growth and diversity while establishing Fredericton as a welcoming and safe community to our newcomers.

“Diversity strengthens our community and our economic prosperity.  Our newcomers not only bring in international investment and diversify our labour market pool, but they also bring in great global experience and many other benefits to our region,” said Coun. Eric Megarity, the chair of Fredericton Newcomer Partnership Council. “Immigration Month will be an opportunity for us to recognize the great impact newcomers have on our community and to showcase the diversity in our region.”
