Seeking Volunteers for the Land Development Committee

The City of Fredericton and Fredericton Exhibition Ltd are looking for interested city residents to fill several vacancies on a new Land Development Committee.

The Committee members are appointed by and report to the Council of the City of Fredericton and the Board of Directors of Fredericton Exhibition Ltd.  The Committee will be tasked with the creation and execution of a Site Development Plan for the current site of the Fredericton Exhibition.

The Committee will engage expert resources, consult with stakeholders, identify best practices in urban land development, incorporate the future plans for the Exhibition and synthesize these inputs into a future site plan which will be aligned with the municipal plan and will eventually be adopted as a secondary site plan under the Community Planning Act.  Once completed, the primary task of the Committee will shift to execution of the plan and identification of development opportunities for the site.

The Committee will consist of ten members, including two members of City Council and two members of the Board of Directors of Fredericton Exhibition Ltd.  A total of four vacancies are being filled at this time.  It is anticipated that the Committee will have approximately ten meetings per year with additional meetings as the need arises. These are volunteer positions, and as such, no remuneration is provided.

Anyone interested in serving on the Land Development Committee is asked to submit a letter and brief résumé, demonstrating their qualifications and experience, to the undersigned on or before Friday, April 26, 2019:
