Barricaded Man Taken Into Custody

A 38-year-old man has been taken into custody after he barricaded himself inside his residence on Paul Street, on Fredericton’s northside, for almost six hours. The man was arrested just after 9:00 a.m. this morning, without incident.

Just after 3:30 a.m. this morning, Friday, November 18, 2016, members of the Fredericton Police Force were called to Paul Street following reports of a domestic dispute. Police had information that there could be weapons present, and the man then barricaded himself inside. There were others present in the residence, but no one was injured in the incident.

Following successful negotiations, the man exited the home, and was taken into custody without incident.

He faces charges, some of which are still under investigation. He will appear in court later today.
