Shortly before 4:00 a.m. on Friday, members of the Fredericton Police, as well as the Fredericton Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to a report that a single vehicle had gone off the road on the green off St. Anne's Point Drive, and coming to a rest on its side. One male had been treated at hospital for minor injuries and released.

Early Sunday morning, the body of a 24-year old woman from Fredericton was recovered from the St. John River. We have confirmed it was the woman who was in the vehicle at the time of the collision.

We have concluded that there were only two people in the car at the time of the incident.

Speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, and the occupants of the vehicle were not wearing seatbelts at the time.
