CRIIU and Fredericton Police Team up for Drug Arrests

An Intelligence Operation led by the Capital Region Intelligence Unit (CRIIU) in partnership with the Fredericton Police Force led to the arrest of two adult men, after a search warrant was executed on Tuesday night.

On January 17, 2017, Fredericton Police executed a search warrant on Fredericton’s southside. Police seized a quantity of drugs, including marijuana, cocaine and cannabis resin. Police also seized a quantity of cash and a vehicle in relation to the investigation.

A 39-year old Fredericton man was arrested and held in custody. He will appear in court today to face two counts of trafficking, three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, and proceeds of crime.

A 30-year old male was also arrested in connection with the investigation, and was released on an undertaking and a promise to appear in court for March 1, 2017 at 9am.

The Capital Region Integrated Intelligence Unit is comprised of members from the Fredericton Police Force, Woodstock Police Force, Canada Border Services Agency, and the RCMP. The investigation is ongoing.
