Fredericton Police Seize Drugs, Weapons and Cash

On the afternoon of September 15, 2016, the Fredericton Fire Department and the Provincial Electrical Inspector were conducting a safety check at a multi-unit residential complex on Fredericton’s Northside. During their visit, they encountered a fortified building that required the Fredericton Police Force to provide assistance which included members from the Primary Response Team, Neighbourhood Action Team, Major Crime Team, Drug Crime Team, Emergency Response Team and the Forensic Identification Team. 

As a result of a collaborative investigation, the Fredericton Police Force obtained a search warrant for the property. Once the warrant was executed, police investigators located and seized 986 grams of Methamphetamine, 889 grams of cocaine, 2 firearms, one of which was loaded, and $3600.00 in cash. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $178,000.

One 16-year old youth, who cannot be identified, was subsequently arrested, and will be appearing in court today on several charges including:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unsafe storage of firearms
  • Unlawful Possession of Firearms
  • Proceeds of Crime
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device

The investigation is ongoing and as a result no further information will be released at this time.
