Man Sought on Canada-wide Warrant Arrested

A 24-year-old Kingsclear First Nation man, who had been wanted on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with a home invasion in December 2017, was arrested yesterday in Fredericton.

At 3:40 p.m., on Thursday, March 1, 2018, the Fredericton Police Force arrested Dustin Sacobie without incident, with assistance from the West District RCMP Crime Reduction Unit.

Sacobie had been charged with aggravated assault, unlawful confinement, robbery, and break and enter on February 2, 2018, and a Canada-wide warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. The charges stem from a violent home invasion that occurred on the Kingsclear First Nation on the morning of December 18, 2017.

Sacobie will appear in court this morning to answer to the charges.
