Suspicious Package

On Saturday, April 8, 2017 at approximately 1:08 p.m., members of the Fredericton City Police and Fredericton Fire Department responded to the Salvation Army Thrift Store located at 275 Main Street regarding a complaint of a suspicious package. Upon arrival, police and fire personnel took all necessary precautions as the content of the package was unknown. The building was secured and remained closed for a few hours. A security parameter was established between Main Street and Wallace Avenue. With the use of the Fredericton Fire Departments Hazardous Materials Team, the package was secured and turned over to police.

It has since been determined that the package poses no risk to the public, but due to the ongoing investigation, we are not at liberty to provide further details at this time.
