Charges laid in connection with crime spree

A 23-year old man is facing several charges in connection with multiple crimes around Fredericton.

In the evening of Tuesday, November 12, 2019, the Fredericton Police Force Street Crime Unit, with the support of the Force’s Patrol Unit, arrested Joseph Emile Breau, of Fredericton, in connection with a number of theft investigations. Subsequent to arrest, police seized stolen property from the accused.

Mr. Breau faces the following charges:

  • four (4) counts of Theft under $5,000 in connection with theft of gas, theft of a bicycle, theft of lottery tickets, and the theft of a poppy donation box;
  • six (6) counts of Possession of Stolen Property, including the possession of three stolen vehicles, possession of a stolen bicycle, and possession of stolen cheques and a debit card reader; and,
  • six (6) counts of Breach of a probation order made by a judge on August 21, 2019.

All accusations stem from activities that occurred in Fredericton between October 22, 2019 and November 12, 2019.

His next scheduled court appearance is Friday, November 15, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.
