Charges Laid in January 31, 2020 Motor Vehicle Collision

A 33-year old Oromocto man has been charged in connection with a single-vehicle collision that occurred in the early last Friday morning, on the Lincoln Road in Fredericton.  Jeffery Joseph Sacobie was charged during a weekend remand appearance with Impaired Operation Causing Bodily Harm, and Driving While Prohibited. He is currently in custody and will appear in court again on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.

On Friday, January 31, 2020 just before 3:00 a.m., Fredericton Police officers and the Fredericton Fire Department responded to reports of a single vehicle collision in the 1100 block of Lincoln Road. The passenger, a 32- year old female had been ejected from the vehicle and sustained critical injuries. She was transported to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, and later to the Saint John Regional Hospital, where she remains in serious but stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle, Mr. Sacobie, was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries and was later released into police custody. He had been banned from driving for four years at the time of the collision, and has seven previous convictions for impaired driving.
