Fredericton Police investigating homicide

The Fredericton Police Force is investigating the city’s second homicide of the year.

On Saturday, May 2, 2020, shortly after 4:30 a.m., police were called to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital where a male had succumbed to his injuries after being shot.

The vehicle that was involved in dropping the victim off at the hospital was located and stopped by police a short time later. Several people were taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.

Police believe that this is not a random act and that the victim was targeted. Police are processing a scene on the Wilsey Road.  Fredericton Police Forensic Identification and RCMP K-9 have been called into assist, and Criminal Investigations has taken over the investigation.
