Police Request Public's Assistance To Locate a Northside Resident

Jim VanDerfluitThe Fredericton Police Force is requesting the public’s assistance in their attempts to locate 50 year old Jim Vanderfluit of Fredericton. Mr. Vanderfluit was last seen at approx. 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 8th when he is alleged to have walked to the shore of the Nashwaak River behind 452 Canada St. (Fredericton) to check on his kayak and to look at a fallen tree.

Jim Vanderfluit has not been seen since and his collapsible kayak, light grey in color, is missing from the area. When last seen on Thursday morning, Mr. Vanderfluit was wearing a yellow coloured ‘echo’ hoodie, blue jeans and work boots. He is described as being 5’7’ in height and has a small build, light brown to blondish coloured hair and a grey mustash.

York County Search and Rescue as well as the Fredericton Fire Department are assisting Police with the search for Mr. Vanderfluit. If anyone has any information that would assist in locating Jim Vanderfluit, they are asked to contact the Fredericton Police Force at 460-2300.
