Drug Raid Nets Substantial Seizure

 

A 25 year old Fredericton man is in Police custody and is expected to make a court appearance sometime throughout the day (January 15th) on drug related charges and weapons charges.
The Fredericton Police Force’s Drug Crimes Unit was assisted by members of the Force’s Emergency Response Team when they raided a south side residence during the late afternoon of Thursday, January 14th, 2010.

During the execution of a search warrant, substantial quantities of cocaine, hashish, ecstasy, LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) and marijuana was seized. Also seized were four handguns, other prohibited weapons and a large quantity of Canadian and US Currency. The seized drugs are estimated to have a street value of $200,000.00. The Fredericton Police Force feels that the entire seizure of drugs and weapons will have a very positive impact on the community.


The Fredericton Police Force will be meeting with any media at 1130 a.m. (Friday, January 15th, 2010) for a photo opportunity and to respond to any inquiries.
