emergency RespoNse Team training
Eleven members of the Fredericton Police Force Emergency Response Team performed surveillance, evaded detection, scaled fencing, and resolved a mock hostage-taking incident during a recent training session at the Fredericton Public Safety Training Centre. Dressed in black and armed with special ordinance “simunition rounds”, they honed their skills by running several scenarios throughout the Training Compound.
“The Training Facility affords an opportunity to practice real-life scenarios in a controlled environment. We had a great day training here”.
- Staff Sergeant Martin Gaudet, Fredericton Police Force Emergency Response Team
HOLLAND COLLEGE PARTNERSHIP
The Atlantic Police Academy's Basic Firefighting Program will train to the levels of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001, as per Firefighter Professional Qualifications. This program obtained its accreditation in April 2006 from the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress.
Holland College and Fredericton Fire Department have formed a strategic partnership, which matches the College’s legacy as an accredited Institution with the Fredericton Public Training Centre, allowing Holland College students access to Fredericton's state-of-the-art training facility and its Training Officers.
“We are very excited about this fresh opportunity to deliver pre-employment programs and much needed in-service courses for Public Safety organizations (Firefighting and Policing services). “We’ve been anticipating an opportunity like this for some time.”
