The Application Process
- Auxiliary Officer applications are accepted periodically when positions become vacant. Recruiting notices will be placed in the local newspaper and on the Fredericton Police Force website.
- Applications will be screened to ensure that all basic requirements are met.
- Applicants will be required to pass an exam that includes; spelling, general legal terms within the NB Justice System, general knowledge regarding the Fredericton Police Force, scenario questions and memory retention. A pass mark of 80% is required.
- Applicants will be required to pass an interview before a board that includes both regular and auxiliary police officers.
- Applicants will be subject to an enhanced security background & security check as well as a security interview if required.
- Applicants will be required to pass a medical/physical examination to Fredericton Police Force standards.
- The Fredericton Police Force attempts to engage those interested volunteers that best meet the needs of the force and the community.
- Successful applicants will be required to undergo required training as directed by the Fredericton Police Force prior to commencing operational duties.
