Auxiliary Basic Qualifications

To obtain a position as an Auxiliary Police Officer with the Fredericton Police Force, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
  • At Least 19 years of age.
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid first aid and CPR certificate prior to engagement.
  • Must possess a Canada Safety Council or equivalent defensive driving certificate prior to engagement.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license (unrestricted).
  • Provide Character references.
  • Must be capable of passing a complete medical and physical examination.
  • NO CRIMINAL RECORDS. No convictions of any offences under the Criminal Code, Controlled Drug and Substances Act, or the Food and Drug Act for which a pardon has not been granted.
  • Have no charges pending before the Courts.
  • Good character and habits - background will be checked.
  • Must reside within 20 Kilometres of the City of Fredericton.
