The Fredericton Police Force is periodically looking for candidates for School crossing Guards.
The Crossing Guard is responsible for the safe crossing of our children at intersections near schools in the city. The city frequently requires reliable and responsible men and women, interested in the safety of the city's children, to work as Adult Crossing Guards. Our Crossing Guards assist children at Fredericton's busy intersections as they walk to and from school. It is necessary to maintain a pleasant, courteous, and helpful attitude toward the school children and the general public at all times.
The time commitment is one (1) hour in the morning and one (1) hour in the afternoon, on weekdays. All weekends, holidays, and the summer school break are off, making this schedule ideal for students, retired persons, or those wanting a short workweek. A traffic vest and stop sign is provided.
Adult Crossing Guards are assigned to a specific post for the duration of the school year, and provide their own transportation to and from the post. Applicants must successfully complete a background investigation prior to employment.
