TO: Companies/persons who install, inspect, test sprinkler systems within the jurisdiction of the City of Fredericton.

 RE: Sprinkler/FD Connections.

Please be advised that we now require non-threaded adapters (storz) couplings for FD Connections.

Any new construction will require these connections and we are presently working on a program to bring all buildings, where possible, up to this connection standard.

Ref: NFPA 13, 6.8.3  The use of threadless couplings shall be permitted where required by the authority having jurisdiction and where listed for such use.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting us.

TO: Companies/persons who install. inspect, test and/or verify fire alarm systems for buildings, etc., within the jurisdiction of the City of Fredericton.

RE: Installation, Verification and Inspection of fire alarm systems

Please be advised that effective immediately, fire alarm verification reports and fire alarm inspection reports must be completed as prescribed in the appropriate CAN/ULC Standard. Certificates, labels, stickers, etc., will not be acceptable in lieu of verification reports and inspection reports.

Keep in mind that requirements of the NFC, NBC, and Fire Orders/Fire Plan Reviews issued by Technical Inspection Services or the Office of the Fire Marshal also apply.

We remind you that Fire Plan Reviews issued under Section 18 of the Fire Prevention Act are considered orders and non compliance is an offence under the Fire Prevention Act, Chapter F-13.
