Crowd Management Team Continues To Receive Updated Training

The Fredericton Police Force's 'Crowd Management Team' is receiving training this week (May 5th-9th) from four members of the Toronto Police Service 'Public Order Unit'. In years gone by, these teams were commonly known as 'riot squads' or 'riot teams'. Since its inception approx. 20 years ago, Fredericton's team has gone through three name changes but continue to maintain their skills with the most up to date training available.

As time evolved, so did the training. This new approach provides a higher level of safety for both Police Officers and the public. Titles may vary from one Police service to another, however, the common goal of maintaining peace and order remains the same. The training received will provide the most up to date tactics and techniques.
