Mission Statement Department Structure


Photo of firefighters on roofThe Fredericton Fire Department is a career department providing emergency service to residents of the City of Fredericton by utilizing manpower and equipment for fire suppression, first aid, water rescue, ice water rescue, hazmat and motor vehicle extrication. The Department employs 118 permanent employees operating a four platoon system, responding from five strategically located stations. The Department also provides regular maintenance and testing of fire fighting equipment and apparatus and conducts inspections of buildings to ensure safety standards are maintained. In addition, public awareness and education programs are offered through the Fire Departments Prevention Division.

 


Mission Statement

To serve the citizens of Fredericton by protecting life and property threatened by medical emergency, fire, hazardous materials and other natural or man made catastrophes, to promote fire awareness through prevention and education.
