What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for GPS users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a GPS unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the Internet. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards.
For more information on terms and acronyms involved with geocaching please refer to the Geocaching Glossary and Geocaching FAQ's in the related content section.
Geocaching Fredericton's Trail System
This puzzle cache is fairly easy to figure out, but is designed to get you out moving on the Fredericton trail system. Once you find all the letters, unscramble them to make the coordinates for the final cache.
There are signs and benches along the trails that will have numbers on them to help you gather the coordinates.
You will have to visit two (2) different waypoints on five (5) different trails to complete this cache.
The City of Fredericton Community Services Department has offered some great traders to complete the cache.
