2007 Canadian Mixed Pairs Lawn Bowling Championship

The lawn bowling green on Saunders Street  will be a busy location when the Fredericton Lawn Bowling Club plays host to the top mixed pairs lawn bowlers in Canada at the 2007 Canadian Mixed Pairs Lawn Bowling Championship. Play will commence on August 29th and will continue until September 4th, when the Championship Game is scheduled. Teams gained entry in the National Championship by winning their respective play downs in their home province. Representing New Brunswick will be John and Jean Banham of the Seaside Lawn Bowling Club in Saint John.

Opening the 2007 Canadian Mixed Pairs Lawn Bowling Championship on August 29, 2007 will be Mayor Brad Woodside. Following the opening ceremonies, the Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick the Honourable Herménégilde Chiasson will make Old Government House available to welcome all players and officials to Fredericton.

Mayor Brad Woodside will be hosting a guided tour of Council Chambers at City Hall on August 31st where all bowlers, officials and their families will be treated to 'The History of Fredericton' articulated in a series of colourful, uniquely woven tapestries. Other activities are scheduled throughout the week to entertain officials, bowlers, and their families.  

Formed in 1991, the Fredericton Lawn Bowling Club currently has over 60 active members. The Fredericton Lawn Bowling Club invites interested spectators and potential players to join them at the Saunders Street green to experience championship play at its best at the 2007 Canadian Mixed Pairs Lawn Bowling Championship.
