The 3rd Annual UPS Kids Tennis Day was once again a tremendous success. Held at the Wilmot Park Tennis courts on Saturday July 7th, 2007 from 9am to 1pm. Each child received a free "Roger Federer" Wilson tennis racquet and a tennis ball yellow hat to encourage continuing participation in the sport. In addition to these items, UPS also distributed black UPS water bottles to each participant.
Thane McCarty lead the on court activities, with the help of six NCCP tennis instructors. The event hosted 151 participants who enjoyed tennis activities that provided both instruction and fun to groups aged 5-13 on the six courts at Wilmot Park.
All Participants were provided a pizza lunch. UPS representatives Peter Shaw and Tom Meadus presented each participant with personalized certificates of participation.
A big thanks once again to UPS, who not only sponsor this event but also provide a number of key volunteers who help out wherever needed. These volunteers were instrumental in the success of the 2007 UPS Kids Tennis Day. From running the registration table, to serving lunch, to chasing down tennis balls on the court, these volunteers made this event a great success.
