Summer 2008 - Mayor's Activity Awards

Earn your bronze, silver or gold awards! Get active and have fun.

This exciting awards program which encourages healthy eating and physical activity for youth aged 5 - 12 will be held from July 7th to the August 15th, 2008.  The program is offered free-of-charge to all interested youth. Youth choose from a wide variety of activities and healthy eating choices and earn points based on the difficulty/challenge of the items chosen. Those earning 200-249 points will earn a Bronze Award those getting 250-350 points a Silver Award and those earning over 350 points a Gold Award. Awards will be distributed at a closing ceremony after the program has concluded.

Sample awards items:

Go for a ½ hour swim (5 points)

Play an active game outside for at least 15 minutes (2 points)

Try a new vegetable (2 points)

Play a team sport for ½ an hour (5 points)

Have a screen free day (5 points)
