Indoor Aquatic Facility Feasibility Study

The City of Fredericton is currently investigating the feasibility of an additional indoor aquatic facility to be located on the south side of the City. No site has yet been determined although a number will be assessed during the study. In addition, the study will also thoroughly investigate community demand for an additional indoor pool and the true costs and financial feasibility of constructing and operating a new indoor pool.

dmA Planning and Management Services Inc., in injunction with Wong Gregersen Dabrus Architects Inc., and Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc. have been hired to carry-out the feasibility study. Work commenced in July of 2011, and will conclude with a final presentation to City of Fredericton Municipal Council in May of 2012. Currently, the consultants are completing the Needs Assessment (Phase One) of the project and commencing Phase Two which will focus upon the facility concept.
