Lincoln Trail

General Information

The Lincoln Trail begins at the south end of the Old Train Bridge in the downtown core near the Trans Canada Trail Pavilion. The Lincoln Trail extends toward the city limits in Lincoln. It is a well-used link for those traveling to UNB or St. Thomas Universities. The trail connects with the Cross Town trail as well as the pathway system through UNB to Priestman St. at the top of the hill. One can also connect with the Salamanca trail and loop back towards the downtown core.  The trail continues outside the city limits to Oromocto on the Trans Canada Trail. The Lincoln Trail is a minimum 2 hour walk or 40 minute bike ride in each direction

Parking is available at The Lady Beaverbrook Rink on University Ave. and at the trail crossing near the Agricultural Research Station. Parking is also available at the Lincoln Ball Field near the Glazier Rd.

Accessibility

The trail has a smooth and level crusher dust surface which makes it easily accessible to all users. There are no grades on this trail.

Things to see and do

The trail travels through an urban setting, secluded woodland and scenic views of the Saint John River. It is an ideal cycling trail. One could leave Fredericton, cycle to Oronoco for lunch and return making a nice excursion of 6 hours or so

Facilities (Bathrooms, Drinking fountains etc.)

There are occasional bathrooms along the way as well as convenience stores. Follow the signs.

Natural Environment

The trail passes through a variety of settings where different species of plant and wildlife can be seen. There is an occupied Osprey nesting pole near the half way point of the trail
