
General Information
The Northside Trail is built on an abandoned rail line and is part of the Trans Canada Trail. The trail travels in an east to west direction across the north side of the city. It begins near the North end of the Old train Bridge and goes to the city limits in Douglas. It is a 3-hour walk in each direction and a 1-hour cycle in each direction within the city limits. If you wish to travel further the trail continues from the city limits for an additional 7 km to The Mouth of Keswick Where you will find a restaurant and an ice cream shop
Parking
Parking is available at various locations along the trail including The Trail Visitor Center on Station St., Royal Rd. Park, and at Douglas Baptist Church on Hwy #105
Accessibility
The trail is accessible to all users as it is smooth and level with a crusher dust surface. The trail is quite wide. Care should be taken, as there are numerous street crossings.
Things to see and do
The trail passes through residential and commercial areas with occasional wooded portions. This trail is an excellent bicycle trail. For those who wish a longer bike ride, you can travel from The Mouth of Keswick on the Northside Trail and cross the Old Train Bridge and then travel on the Lincoln Trail to Oromocto. This trip is is close to 35 km each way

There are bathroom and drinking fountains along the trail. Follow the signs.
Natural Environment
The trail passes through some wooded portions where deer, birds, small animals, trees and small plants can be observed
