Cross Country Skiing

Now here's a fun way to stay fit and enjoy the great outdoors this winter!!  Why not grab your skis and hit the groomed and tracked trails of Killarney Lake Park or Odell Park by yourself, with a friend, your entire family or join a ski club?  Once you do, you'll have embarked on an active adventure that will take you into the depths of the forested landscapes of two very extraordinary Parks within City Limits.

A few factors contribute to the conditions of ski trails within the City.

  • We need snow.  And it's got to be the right kind of snow too!  We'll call that "optimal snow conditions".
  • Then we need available trained staff photo of cross country skiing
  • Decent weather conditions
  • and the proper equipment.

Wondering how the trail conditions are before heading out?  Give our Community Services Hotline a jingle at 460-2881 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.  It'll provide you with the most up-to-date information of ski conditions.

Every effort is made to have the trails in Odell and Killarney groomed and tracked for skiing as soon as possible after a snowfall (time varies depending on above conditions).  When time permits, additional trails are groomed for walking.  It's important to remember that during the winter season trails may not be maintained on a regular basis.  Please use with caution and at your own risk.  Be safe!  Have fun!
